Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew over Greece, Italy, France and Canada on Thursday on his way to address the UN, despite an International Criminal Court warrant for his arrest.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in November 2024, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Gaza since October 2023.
Netanyahu arrived in the US for a short visit to address the UN General Assembly in New York, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani has said he does not have the authority to arrest the Israeli leader.
But what about the rules based international order?

Coming from reddit, it’s interesting to see a world news forum that isn’t entirely and totally captured by Israeli Hasbara mods. However, Iran having nukes may be preferable to Iran having its country ‘annihilated’ by an empire that already has nukes, and is the only country to have ever used them.

I think any country that allows things like this should get ignored by the ICC for any criminals that they want to have arrested. France looking for a criminal that stole stuff from the Louvre or something? Nah, ask someone else.
France (and the rest of capitalist core) is already ignored by ICC. Reading many comments in this thread i see that people seems to have many misconceptions concerning purpose and scale of ICC. In fact, it is not chasing burglars, but it is the colonial court for Africa and the scale of its activities are kinda pathetic since the number of indicted are not many and many of them were not even arrested and judged.
ICC only had its five minutes when it accused Putin (enthusiastically supported by all the countries that now ignore its accusation against Netanyahu) and now Netanyahu.
- Colonize Africa, appropriating its land and people.
- Stop colonization, but never pay African countries back for it in any noticeable capacity.
- Force African countries to join the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, both of which strongly prioritize rich countries’ interests.
- Now they’re not colonies, but they still have to work like slaves to pay off unfair debts.
- Force them to join the ICC, which, among other activities, punishes mostly African government officials for forced labour in their countries, without which they would not be able to pay off debts to rich countries.
This is the West, the one that is supposedly peaceful, democratic, and wants to build a rule-based world order. Yep, checks out.
The International Caucasian Court is a tool of imperialism. It’s already ignored by the Global North when anyone tries to apply its rules to itself, so the Global South should also ignore it.

And we both know damn well that 77k is the number of positively identified direct fatalities (not causalities, as you tried to lie) caused by Israeli munitions, it doesn’t include deaths from indirect causes resulting from the complete destruction of civil infrastructure or deaths that couldn’t be confirmed because the bodies were buried beneath bubble or couldn’t be positively identified by what remains of the Palestinian medical system after it’s systematic destruction by Israel. Meanwhile the number you’re citing for Afghanistan is total excess mortality from all secondary effects.
