With 25th anniversary of the tragic event coming, are there any albums that remind you of the life BEFORE 9/11 happened?
Basically every single song from the Moby album Play was in basically every single commercial on TV
I was already in my 30s when 9/11 happened, and I can’t say I noticed any change in music attributable to it.
I didn’t know you were an old-head, davel, lol.
On 9/11 I wore an onion on my belt, which was the style at the tine.
I seem to remember something about nickels and bees?
Live Mental Jewelry was always a fav to mine
While I can’t think of an album that reminds me of the world before 9/11, I can definitely think of an album that reminds me of the date. Slayer’s God Hates Us All released on September 11, 2001after being delayed due to mixing issues, resulting in the coincidence. They even make a couple references ot terrorism.
But it’s such a good album tho
I was 10 when 9-11 happened so not much, but Mark Knopfler’s Sailing to Philadelphia always takes me back, released in 2000 and I remember being in the car with my dad listening to it
I was going to name this as well. One of the songs even has a line, “After two-thousand came two-thousand-and-one.”
