    ❗️French Charles de Gaulle carrier group moves toward Red Sea, Gulf of Aden

    France’s aircraft carrier group, led by the Charles de Gaulle, is heading into the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden as part of French and British preparations for a potential future mission aimed at supporting ‘freedom of navigation’ in the Strait of Hormuz, France’s military said on Wednesday.

    The French Armed Forces Ministry said in a statement that the carrier group crossed the Suez Canal on Wednesday while en route to the southern Red Sea.

    The French carrier strike group was deployed to the eastern Mediterranean shortly after the US-Israeli war on Iran started, and is capable of remaining at sea for four to five months.
