Honestly I’ll still be using Proton and recommending it because it’s just good and a net benefit for everyone, but goddammit Andy you should’ve taken Swiss neutrality to heart this time and not said anything.

You beat me to it
The less people spoof and the more people use Firefox + Linux, the less of a need there will be to spoof at all.
I just won’t use websites that won’t work with a Firefox + Linux user agent in the same way I won’t use a website that blocks ublock. I’m just not going to give Chrome or Windows a stat boost, even with Librewolf where I unspoofed the UA.
With Linux usage at an all time high, I’m itching for the year of the Linux desktop.
I tried Wayland for the first time last week and my first reaction was “wtf this is so smooth”. But some stuff was too funky so I went back to X11.
Lemmy, and I’m never going back. I just wish we had the abundance of content that Reddit does. There’s a lot of communities I miss.

Yay, crimes against humanity!
I spent too much time with corpo brain rot to give linux a chance on desktop and realize it’s how I’d always imagined proper computing would be. It changed my outlook on the world when I finally did and it’s liberating (much libre. Very wow). Glad to see more and more people catching on to the possibility of a better future.

This makes me feel better about the 100-200 tabs I have perpetually open.
Gnome devs to Gnome users: get gnomed you gnomes
I’d rather meet sexually pursue Nikola Tesla

The science of consciousness is cool and all, but feel free to enjoy eating meat if that’s what gets you off. No judgement here.
Edit: I should add that this was supposed to be a lame penis joke. Clearly didn’t land as well as I’d hoped

They published a 2024 roadmap at the end of last year. I saw it when I was looking into donating to Framasoft.

Peertube is planning on releasing an official app this year. Just thought I’d throw that out there.
Way to stop the trolly problem dead in its tracks.
For starters, it’s open source. And I’m not too into the details, but the creator of Anubis even mentioned that they were interested in creating a non-javascript version for privacy.
Google’s reCaptcha, to which Anubis is being compared to by OP, is obviously far less private. It’s just another mechanism of control and data harvesting for Google. One of the ways that they determine if you’re malicious/human or not is to check if you have a Google cookie in your browser and are signed in. Not to mention fingerprinting (hardware and software info), browsing data, AI training ironically enough (the fucking streetlights), etc etc.
Anubis is relevant here because it is more private, among other things.
