No, you just don’t understand it yourself. Many social quirks and awkwardness is because of these sorts of abnormal thought patterns that make people arrive at weird conclusions. They are in fact, an important part of diagnosing autism vs scizophrenia and many other mental disorders, as in some situations, these weird conclusions can make someone seem pretty loony, or make them shut down socially when they realize they’ve misunderstood. So you being offended by this explanation just means you do not understand nor empathise with autistic people.

I’m not saying these are the only things that make someone autistic, or that all autistic people will have such peculiar trains of thought. Just that it is common in the realm of such disorders. Autism is a MASSIVE spectrum, because it describes symptoms, not causes.

So while this type of behavior might eventually get fully separated from autism in to things like social communication disorder, that’s more of a consequence of psychiatrists/etc slowly picking appart that massive umbrella of “autism”, not that it wasn’t or isn’t currently part of it.

So in the abstract, the guy is correct. Though, there is also a bottle of water in the picture, and when discussing which specific water will boil, it’s a guessing game, hence “spontaneous”. “Spontaneous” totally works for discussing the water in the picture.

PBS Spacetime has many episodes on horizons and this very concept comes up a lot. It’s also equally probable using such simple logic that we are in a white hole given the effects of dark energy, but the truth is they are very different sorts of horizons.

Most religious people will readily admit it’s based on faith, not fact. Furthermore, it’d likely make them believe it more. God has always been described as beyond the universe, bigger than, all encompassing, etc. If the holographic principle proves true, it’d actually provide a mathematical path for such statements to be literally true. Yes, it’d still be a pile of assumptions about such an external entity, but the point is there would still exist a scientific path for the most basic of things to be good enough for faith.

There is no problem introduced by noticing that there exists a horizon to the universe. It’s also in no way what so ever a new “discovery”, but a basic concept based on how horizons work in the first place.

The only “new” “discovery” I’m aware of is just a theory about our galaxy being roughly in the center of a less dense area of the universe that’s ~ 2 billion lightyears across. There has been observational evidence for it for many years, but the new info correlates it with dark energy observations as well as distance/density observations, or thereabouts.

NOT “discovered inside black hole”, just gained further theoretical evidence for the Earth being in a less dense area of the universe. There has been actual evidence of such for some time (at least a decade), but there is uncertainty at such large scales so it cannot be called conclusive based only on a couple types of observation that may have erroneous procedures.

This is wholly inaccurate. We do know what causes gravity; time dilation near matter (at least for smaller objects like the Earth). What we don’t know is why gravity, because we have yet to produce a model that matches both quantum effects and cosmic behaviors like gravity and dark matter/energy.

“Quantum gravity” is the general term for what solution would describe something that ties these two universes of behavior together. The process of decoherence isn’t terribly well understood as far as carrying effects clear from particle scale to cosmic scale.

Even then, some of the mathematical explanations from current models are plausible, but unproven.
