Knowing Stubb’s extreme pro-US, pro-EU and pro-NATO (he stated explicitly during his presidential run that he’d allow NATO nukes on Finnish soil) stance I highly doubt these two being examples of fragmentation. The whole ordeal seems completely useless (as both keep claiming undying support for Ukraine, while disregarding Russia’s legitimate interests), unless it was secretly about begging for mercy preemptively.

I think the Fourth Reich will eventually fragment (or violently rip itself apart), I doubt many of those doing the dying are willing to go to war against Russia anytime soon. Increased militarization is the only way out the bougies see, but unfortunately for them EU has never been the United States of Evropa they seem to think it is.

I honestly can’t see a way out for the Euro elites from this mess, unless they are willing to admit they’re at fault and change their ways about everything. And let’s be honest, that’s never going to fucking happen with these bozos.

The only viable way out would be to cut ties with America, bulldoze NATO, and bring Russia into the EU fold instead.

Which obviously won’t happen because Europeans are too racist toward Russians.

Cutting ties with US might happen, might even be a necessity as US is withdrawing from basically everywhere it can. I think the only reason Euros would bulldoze NATO is to create another all-European one in its place, because the leaders here are only considering militarization as a viable way out. But creating a new one would bring its own host of problems, because the most powerful countries (thinking France, Germany, probably UK tbh in this hypothetical post-US European future) would demand to be considered over each-other. The petty rivalries between European powers could well re-emerge here, undercutting the power to crush dissidence by increased militarization under an existing standard (NATO). I don’t know how willing any future Russian leader would be moving closer to the EU (because of the racism) especially given their already existing closeness to China and the global south.

I personally am feeling a strange combination of hope and hopelessness, seeing the writing on the wall for the inevitable fall of capitalism, the protests once again sweeping Europe (we can have a little optimistic delusion, as a treat); but looking at the European elites flailing about with the problems they made happen and knowing that the machine of violence they command will only increase in its brutality fills me with dread. I am not a physically fit person, I do not own means to protect me or my loved ones from fascists. The national communist parties are either not responding my inquiries to join, or just seem to be close to non-existent in my area. But maybe I’m not in danger quite yet. Anyway, this place sucks and our leaders are bloodthirsty ghouls.

Didn’t expect so much spine from European leaders. What’s next, refusing to gift Ukraine 70 billion euros? :)

Both leaders stressed their strong support for Ukraine, which they said would continue.

Oh, nevermind. I don’t underatand, they ask Putin to make a peace deal with Ukraine yet say they will support Ukraine? What does support mean in this case? If they want a peace deal, mediators are usually neutral. I am confused

It is very bullshitty. Best I can gather is this amounts to them signaling a desire to handle the matter outside of the US’s purview. But since they are still rabidly NATO and they keep trying to play it off like Ukraine isn’t a NATO proxy, it looks kind of nonsensical.

        Something like:

“Come to the table with us and deal!”

        “On what terms?”

        “The terms that benefit NATO!”

“Why the fuck would we do that.”

“I don’t know, we just want to be at the table.”

They did what they usually do, they tell Russia they want to talk and spend the entire time not listening to a word Russia says and just keep insisting that Russia has to surrender.
