—❗️🇺🇸/🇮🇷 NEW: According to Axios, the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 13th Marine Expediationary Unit have left San Diego Naval Base to the Middle East
The ARG consists of an amphibious assault ship, the USS Makin Island, and two amphibious transport docks, the USS Anchorage and USS John P. Murtha.
They will bring about a dozen F-35B Lightning II fighter jets and around 2200 U.S. Marines, as well as infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers.

That’s a naval landing force.
There’s enough marines, transport helicopters, and amphibious vehicles in there to make a beachhead.

Honestly I’d be surprised if Trump tried to land a ground invasion. A third of the country just signed up as volunteers to fight the Yankees, not to mention all the other factors that maje am invasion unsustainable. It’s basically a suicide mission, and I can’t imagine even the current delusional US elite are stupid enough to try it.
I can believe they are stupid enough to try, but I’m also not sure if they are actually this stupid right now or if there is something more to it and they’d like us to think they’re that stupid. Trump seems to care a lot about electoral bullshit, so maybe he wants to plant a flag and declare victory or something. I dunno. There’s not a lot I’d put past the empire at this point, but I’m also wary of assuming stupidity where something more thought out might be involved.
Maybe just postering and pressuring to get leverage in negotiations?
I am sure trump, hegseth and an admiral intend on landing but I’m guessing the captain of the boat is gonna refuse orders.
