🇦🇲 Farmers in Armenia have blocked the road to Iran, demanding a solution to problems with selling their crops.
The protesters complain that companies are refusing to buy vegetables from them because they cannot export processed products.

I’m kinda confused as to who the farmers are protesting. Are they protesting Iranian companies or Armenian ones? I’d assume the latter, but I’m not sure the context of blocking the road to Iran.
Has nothing to do with Iran really. In June Russia blocked Armenia produce and canned goods citing sanitary regulations (really its about Armenia working with ukraine and usa.) 90% of Armenian food exports go to Russia. The processing plants aren’t buying tomatoes from the farmers because they don’t have anyone to sell to. So the farmer’s have put all the effort into growing crops and now they are realizing they are just going to rot. The minister agriculture told them they would have this all fixed by harvest but he didn’t and the farmers are the ones that will get fucked. The PM is promising compensation to the farmers but they also said they would find a buyer for the crops.
