❗️Oil prices fall back after Iran signals openness to negotiations
Oil prices reversed early gains on 20 July after Iran’s Foreign Ministry said negotiations with the US could be pursued based on national interests.
Brent crude fell to $87.94 a barrel after earlier hitting $91.42, its highest in over a month, while US West Texas Intermediate dropped to $81.81.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said intermediaries had shared messages with Tehran over recent days, without specifying what the proposals entailed.
