VIDEO | “Back then we had 2,000 missiles, the Supreme Leader wanted more.”
Iranian General Yahya Safavi, the former Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and senior military advisor, revealed in a recent interview that when he was appointed to lead the IRGC in 1997, Iran possessed an arsenal of roughly 2,000 missiles.
According to the general’s statements, the country’s leadership viewed this initial inventory as insufficient. He noted that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei instructed military commanders to expand this arsenal significantly to sustain an offensive war.
