The reformists have dine shit like this before. Make obvious unacceptable promises to the west, than, when the actually sovereign parts of Iran’s leadership doesn’t follow through, or blocks progress on implementing those concessions, they attack the “hardliners” for being too rigid. From there, they whip up a fuss among their supporters using their extensive media networks or local NGOs. When a non-reformist is in power (as has happened unoccasionally) then they make it difficult to govern by pushing their supporters to protest dye to issues they created previously. These initial protests often expand, and then turn into the massive psyop regime change operations that the US ferments in Iran, forcing the IRGC to respond with heavy force.

The reformists willingness to slash subsidies, and give handouts to Iranian capitlists also Usually pisses people off, leading to protests of their own, again havomg to be suppressed by the IRGC.

It really sounds like the reformists need to be out of the picture. It seems like they have some bourgeois ambitions, which is why they keep making concessions to the monstrous Yankee regime, thinking they’ll get rich if they help usher in the US. Bastard traitors. Always following the damned money. It really sounds like, hopefully, they’ll cause enough of a stir to alienate the people of Iran and bring about their own demise.

I assumed they could just remove them by making them resign, but given this is during a war, seizing their assets is probably a better choice than just forcibly removing them out of the picture which could potentially destabilize the situation.
