I remember reading this story that The Black Panthers would patrol the streets, armed legally via the 2nd Amendment and their stated goal was to make sure that people’s rights were enforced.
We need that energy. A show of presence and force, that’s as legal as possible, but also shows the people are fed up.
People don’t rise up because they don’t see themselves as sufficiently repressed, or in danger. The window of effective action is probably closed though, it’s far too late to do anything meaningful now.
The ‘levers of power’ are far too effective, systems dismantled, and the US is forever changed. What little dissent that exists is so neutered and ineffectual that it can be ignored.
I will say however, recruiters are just normal ass people and not really valid political targets, that would change nothing and make their loved ones lives awful. They’re so low on the totem pole that I’m not on board with this.
Violence is valid, but random wanton violence against regular ass rank and file folks does nothing but strengthen the oppressor and gives aid and comfort via sympathy, bad strategy, utterly awful.
Only people who would do this and believe it works are unstable folks with no sense of strategy.

I tend to like the fact the US has a military strong enough to discourage anyone from invading/killing/raping everyone. I don’t like the vast majority of what we do outside our border with said military though.

The US Empire is currently using its millitary to plunder the world, and protect the imperial core from retribution from the global south. It needs to die, ideally by being overthrown from within.

Why are you pro-NATO? NATO is similar to the Iron Dome, it’s “defensive” of an actively imperialist hegemony. Spearheaded by the US Empire, NATO countries are all guilty of plundering the global south of the surplus value they create, through financial domination and overt millitary action. Western IMF loans require austerity or a concession of sovereignty, and in this process the global north gets extremely wealthy at the expense of the global south. NATO’s role is to protect this process of expropriation.

My assumption is that it’s mainly from Europeans that don’t believe they are actually imperialist. Most are aware of how bad the US Empire is, but Europeans act like they aren’t complicit vassals. Though, they do seem to be getting demoted to periphery, hence Starmer’s warming relations with the PRC in the last few weeks.
Europeans forget they participated in MNF-I in Iraq and ISAF in Afghanistan, as well as the Unified Protector mission in Libya.
Yep, and they also seem to forget that the death of old-style colonialism doesn’t mean that they aren’t still super-exploiting the global south with imperialism and neocolonialism.
