Not a botanist but as a southerner I’d go to the Centennial Expo and the Chicago World’s fair to try to keep Kudzu out of America. That weed is a fucking problem
It’s crazy to see the places I grew up completely overgrown, the plants and flowers and colors I’d see bloom along the mountains choked by a jungle-green slope of garbage. Hate.

I think those are native.
North America had only one minor earth worm species before Europeans arrived.

you may have explained why our blackberries are so good. we’ve been cloning a california blackberry everywhere we move, and all the nurseries here sell himalayan blackberries. we’ve also got a little patch of wild california blackberries in the hills we’re tending. got the best jam.
I don’t think it would have been possible to keep it out. :/
