Yeah, that was the point of the joke
But you’re right, better leave a link, the more people know, the better
Rust dev, I enjoy reading and playing games, I also usually like to spend time with friends.

I don’t know, whenever I hear such arguing it makes me feel like it emphasises the issues we as humanity have gotten into, not belittles.
I mean, hearing “everything is doomed” is kind of epic and has it’s charm. Hearing “only the humanity is doomed” makes me feel shitty and want to do something about that.
Probably the same way one of the suicide prevention methods is de-romanticization of death, a lot of people expect death to be pretty, and it’s not
So that’s why I can’t print greyscale documents when my yellow ink is too low!
I expected him to aspire to become a politician until the last frame
This is the art level of fuckery, making it this bad was definitely harder than making it okay
I don’t know for sure, but my advisor used to worry about the amount of successful PhD graduates, because of the department quota, iirc
his quota was not too high, and he allowed me to enroll and was okay with me, although I said in advance that I will likely become a drop out
Not everywhere, I guess. The advisor needs to show good numbers to the stakeholders board, after all
I think they had some specific metric in mind when they said this. But on the other hand, this is kind of a “you’re here” situation, AI can’t do that now, there’s no telling that they can’t make it do that later. Probably it would be a much more useful AI at that point, too
What is it this time?
I’ve been far away from academia for a long time, but last time I read papers on voice processing it went something like this:
Abstract: we’ve achieved [very good results] using this one simple trick…
Body: actually, we will maybe not tell what was the corpus we used to measure how good we are. We’re also going to omit several important steps where they can be omitted nonchalantly, so that reproducing what seems to be a thorough description will be a pain
So, I don’t know if it ever is all nice and simple, but man could it be better if things were always done in good faith and professionally
I think, the bigger problem is when the abstract tells that everything is all nice and simple, but in reality it’s not
But it’s not Wednesday yet 😯
Thanks, although both timescales and events in that article make me depressed 😅
I’m not quite sure what is being conveyed here, but these “nothingness = -0” and “universe = ∞” give me strong pseudoscience vibes 😅 maybe the dynamic equilibrium is supported by an ether wind or something
Oh, I mistook “his” as referring to “Boeing” because I didn’t know the original structure
I didn’t, it made more sense after your comment.
It’s still almost perfect on its own
But at least it’s not spiky coarse
Yeah, watching ladybugs is actually even better because of that
Remember how everyone was expecting the end of the world in 2012, kind of like that.
I personally don’t find it romantic anymore
