Do those goalposts have little feet on them?

    “Democrats wouldn’t do this”

    Democrats do this

    “No, not like that”

Look, I said it in a dumb meme format so you know it’s true

(I appreciate you for posting here, just making fun of you 😊)

Idk… I find pi AI incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in having a low-stakes conversation about their mental health or just to have a general conversation about what they’re feeling. I honestly don’t use it enough (like when I’m super bummed and have no one to talk to). So far, it’s always been 1000% helpful

  • Wait, so are there other politics instances? There isn’t just the one?

I seem to get subs/instances for other communities that aren’t from lemmy.world but only one politics community.

If there’s another one that’d be great. I just realized the guy I reported is still commenting there while I was banned for 3 days. I kinda don’t really feel like returning there if that’s how they choose to run it.

  • Idk, it’s honestly all a bit too confusing. I still don’t get how this place works. I just use sync and even then some servers/instances or whatever will say I can’t vote for certain posts/servers - idk, I’m assuming there’s servers that get turned off at night or something

Have a recommendation? I only joined world because it seemed to have the least requirements for joining and was maybe more popular. I remember other instances requiring you answer a bunch of questions to join or something like that

    What are you on?

I just recently got banned (I think, never got a response) from the politics sub for reporting another use that called me retarded. It’s legit confusing. I literally reported them because it seemed out of pocket but apparently I said something offensive as well

I’m about ready to that go back to reddit, just using a web browser on my phone. This is place is asking users for a lot and people still don’t seem to understand what a community is. All the pretty words people used when we migrated over was all BS apparently. It’s weird since people clearly put in work but like, where are the mods/admins leading the community? Idk, maybe this stuff’s just too hard for mostly socially-stunted people to manage (including myself, raised on video games and whatnot)

  • One difference is there was already value with having a gmail account. What’s the point of getting a Microsoft account? The only thing I can see is it makes settings set up/transfer easy between PCs and for reinstalls.

Except, if I’m reinstalling, I can’t imagine waiting to copy settings since one of those settings is probably causing a problem and I don’t want it to be automatically set for me. I also don’t use the Microsoft store so…

Does anyone else actually get value from their Microsoft account? If not, It just feels like it’s only purpose is giving them (more) access to your computer. Why would anyone want that?

  • Ngl, I did not actually expand the picture to see the caption. I just saw the main image about knowledge. Post-docs absolutely get fucked and I do feel bad for them.

I quit one year into my PhD because I was miserable in grad school. I have to assume most post-docs have some crazy resilience or some kind of mental issue/trauma that keeps them going and going. I guess that’s probably true for most people but post-docs do some seriously hard mental work and basically get shafted the entire time (at least in the US).
