I dunno it seems well explained to me. Servarr is another name for the *arr suite, radarr, sonarr, etc.
This gives you an all-in-one place to manage all of those services.
I believe the word you’re looking for is anthropocentrism
Welcome to Lemmy. It sounds like you either come from a place of extreme privilege or you’re not actually sure how the tariffs will affect the people.
The idea behind the tariffs is fine. They want to drive union Members (fun fact, did you know that that’s how the founding fathers referred to citizens?) to buy and trade locally. However, many of the products we use in our day to day life come from industries that don’t exist in the US yet, and it will take years to create the required infrastructure and factories and farm land in order to create those industries.
Effectively, the tariffs would have been fine. If the US had actually been prepared to take care of itself. But it’s not, and it won’t be for a long time. So, the tariffs only exist as an extra tax right now.

I banned myself off Reddit. Deleted my 10 year old account because fuck em.
I didn’t, unfortunately, obfuscate my comments before deleting them. However, I find solace in thinking that there is a small win in leaving all of that socialist propaganda in their training data

I guess to be fair, most of my time working with electronics was alongside the USN so that makes sense

I know you’re not wrong but I’ve always heard that pin called “ground” instead of “earth” in English

I was cursed with FD on my first Linux machine and now it’s one of the first things I download when I set up a new machine :(

Electric motors have high torque at low RPM
For anyone scrolling by and curious about this, this is caused by the combination of physical and electrical resistance. In a typical engine, RPM and torque go up together because it requires more force to get to those higher RPMs (IIRC this is called positive correlation). In a circuit, you have to kind of convince the electricity that it would be better off somewhere else (by connecting to a ground, this is due to electrical resistance), so you have to give it a heavy upfront load to get it going which causes a lot of torque due to the physical resistance

I don’t think anybody can dethrone Google Maps
I wonder how the whole “AI is more important than copyright” thing could play into this… Someone could totally program an “AI” map assistant right?

Yo, startpage looks sick. I’ll have to poke around and see if I can find more info on that it looks super useful. My quick test just now was “cloture 2025” which returned 4 news articles followed by basically nothing but .gov links, whereas Google returns way more “news”

People are giving great answers here. One I didn’t notice at a glance is that the Fediverse is feckin small. Most of the world doesn’t know it exists yet, and centralized social medias are probably not gonna be super big about pushing that info through their algorithms

Ballingon a budget
Edit: Unballing on a budget

The source code for the AI is open for you to read, afaik. I didn’t actually find a link to the code on the site but it claimed the source code was open

Looks to be proper open source too, not just open weights or open parameters

The struggle is real
I know I show favoritism with people and pets, but I’ve been in so many situations in my life where I’ve had to consciously remove that behavior that nowadays it comes automatically for a lot of situations. When someone asks me who I’d prefer to do something with, my knee jerk reaction isn’t “who do I want to do this with more?” It’s “who did I do this with most recently?”
Also, favorites are just way too situational. My favorite color? On what? A hamburger? Pink. My clothes? Black. My computer? Mauve.
My favorite food? For which meal? How was my day? What have I eaten recently?
There are some easy favorites. My favorite hoodie is the one that my, now ex previously partner, brought to me while I was going through one of my lowest points in life. I’m grateful they let me keep it.
My favorite thing about life is learning. Perhaps that’s why I struggle to pick favorites. My favorite anything is one that I have not yet experienced, because I get to learn something when I do. I’m really trying to keep my love for learning against the odds. I know that it becomes more difficult as you get older, and I’ve definitely slipped into complacency with my knowledge for a few periods in my life. I also know that if I continue to fight for myself and others ability and access to knowledge, it will be easier to maintain my desire to learn. Otherwise I’d be a hypocrite for telling everyone to go pick up a book haha

Word

Same! I think that’s actually part of what influenced this behavior in me. I would miss texts, so I built the habit of going and checking/rereading them occasionally
