We dont buy expensive stuff, they get absolutely trashed by food, dirt, poop, paint, markers… but she still insists on air drying because the label says so. We’re due to have our second in a bit over a month so I imagine this is going to become a topic again.

When articles say “Do not tumble dry” I wonder “Are we concerned about the heat from an old fashioned rotating oven or the mechanical stress on the fabric?” because I have a fancy pants heat pump dryer and my wife still insists it will somehow ruin the clothes.

In the tail end of my singleness I found that I was able to have more and better conversations with women online or via txt/dm because we could share things and experiences without being in the same room… But we werent in the same room, to shoot your shot you had to arrange something, give them a chance to overthink it, give yourself a chance to overthink it, sort out the scheduling issues, work out transport and then hopefully when you get into the same room still have the same magic going on.

I have a spanner that has been lovingly butchered to remove one sensor on a steering rack on one model of car. Its a common failure point and replacing it either means custom specialty tool or complete steering rack removal and wheel allignment.

I second the general recommendations of Vans or converse but IMO if you’re also going to be on your feet all day wearing them the thin soles does get old fast. I wear my crossfit shoes most of the time and they are really good driving shoes because they tend more towards flat soles and unobtusive tread but still pretty good cushioning.
