Senior Hezbollah official Nawaf al-Moussawi declared that military force is the only viable method to liberate southern Lebanon, asserting during an interview with Middle East Eye that negotiations alone will never convince Israeli occupation forces to withdraw.

Moussawi, who heads Hezbollah’s border and resources department, criticized Lebanese President Joseph Aoun for entering direct, US-backed talks with Tel Aviv without leverage or national consensus, warning that such diplomatic efforts are bound to fail.

Moussawi emphasized that the resistance movement has no choice but to continue fighting the occupying forces to secure the return of forcibly displaced communities, noting that Israel is currently battling a resilient new generation of fighters.

Addressing mounting domestic pressure regarding disarmament, Moussawi dismissed the feasibility of state or regional militaries confronting the resistance, maintaining that Lebanon’s security forces belong to the public and will not turn their arms inward.
