too bad, i’m not buying another (locked) computer just because microsoft thinks it’s losing money by supporting their own operating systems.
I wanted to play clockwork revolution, but not even remotely enough to buy a $1k+ Xbox. And I’m fairly certain that sharma will be gone before ES6 or Fallout 5 appear on the market.
I have yet to be introduced to a game so good that I can’t just play something else (or hell, read a book or something more fulfilling)
I can’t even think of the last AAA game that I played through. Maybe Ghost of Yotei, which was fine but nothing to sing praises over (though the cast was fantastic, I’ll give it that).
Indie and AA games have been far more interesting than any AAA slop for years now, especially console exclusive slop. PoE2 and Warframe are dominating the AA live service market, Deltarune’s back in conversations with the new chapter release, so many weird little obscure titles that are just far more interesting than whatever Sony and MS are pumping out. Hell, over the past year some of my favorite single player games have been super oddballs like Cruelty Squad, Funi Raccoon Game, and Fuck’s Quest II
Rambling aside, I don’t see myself ever caring about a game enough to buy a new console for it at this point. Even Nintendo’s lost my interest ages ago and I grew up obsessed with their games.
I can’t even make time for all the PC games I want to play. Just recently I had to remove Deltarune, Void Stranger, Ghostland Yard, and Blacksmith Song of Two Kings from my wishlist and boy has that been giving me an existential crisis.
It would be an absolute nightmare if I added console exclusives to the mix.

Xbox games on Windows, and most if not all Microsoft Store apps, have some abstraction layer -I’m not certain of the technical details and actual implementation- that make them virtually unrunnable using Wine.
Note: My experience may be outdated and not reflective of the current state of Wine.
You guys still play xbox games?
I haven’t had an Xbox since the 360, and never will again. Fuck that company in the ass with a morning star.
“What’s going on?” is a rhetorical question.
