❗️Iran has issued a sharp rebuke to the United Kingdom and France following their announcement of a planned multinational military mission in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi took to social media to denounce the move, asserting that the strategic waterway is not a domain for the projection of force by external actors.
“The Strait of Hormuz is not a theatre for the military display of extra-regional powers,” Gharibabadi wrote in a post on X. He further cautioned that regional stability remains the mandate of local coastal states, explicitly warning that “the crisis-makers will be held accountable for the consequences of their adventurism; this is a serious warning.”
