For years now Verizon has been locking bootloaders preventing custom ROMs from being used, most commonly the Google Pixel where if purchased from Google it’s unlocked but from a carrier (Verizon especially) it’s been labeled impossible. Over 3yrs later and the attempt is still a failure.
