Is the bottom photo real? It looks weirdly clean for something that is meant to be messy.
I’d bet AI. Dude is prepping for a swing but there’s already debris flying off from an impact a split second ago. The statue hand is kind of just chilling there despite a large crack at the wrist. The lighting on the guy’s face is also odd.
And yeah it has that AI vibe where each subject is a sort of platonic ideal of its essence, rather than being part of a continuous whole.
I haven’t checked the image. However, it is true that ISIS has destroyed Christian churches and statues regardless of the image:
