The original version of this meme was problematic but my god this version of it is spot on accurate. And it still would be accurate for countless other things that could be put in the Biden/Trump speech bubble. Despite what Democrats pretend, and how they like to (ineffectively) play the role of opposition to Trump, they are fine with 90% of what he does, he just does it without any deference to the liberal theatrics of “law,” with too much bombast instead of fake personal difficulty making “hard choices,” and because he’s not on team Blue. Granted, there are a few significant things I think it’s safe to say would not have happened under a Democrat president, but vanishingly few of those are things they wouldn’t have wanted to do.
US politics is a good cop/bad cop sitcom. Republican scream at us then do what they said they were going to do. Democrats smile at us and do the exact same thing.

Organizing in working class parties such as PSL so that we can end overseas wars, sanctions, and bombings forever, and finally end the imperialist system forever. Only through establishing socialism can we escape this never-ending death spiral and the damage it inflicts not only on US citizens but the entire global south. Decolonialism and ending the settler-colonialism of the US Empire is also critical.

The Democrats are unfathomably evil, but America will be a much worse place if they lose the midterms … although I’m still fishing for ideas on what the Democrats would actually do. They’ve kind of tacitly approved everything that Trump is already doing and it’s hard to imagine how far he’d need to go to push the Democrats to act.
The Democrats aren’t going to act on economic issues unless it’s pro-business, but on social issues I’d hope they have some kind of red line. They won’t go after ICE or help trans people, but maybe they would slow Trump’s rollback of abortion rights and same sex marriage.
They have a red line on social issues the same way they had a redline in Gaza.
Between a choice of Hitler and business as usual, might as well throw your vote away and vote both ways!
