Is this true? I’m not sure why anyone would lie about such a thing, but, still… is it true?
According to the wikipedia page for isoamyl acetate, it is both responsible for the banana smell and is the chemical honey bees use to tell other bees to sting, so at least the logic for the post is sound.
I hate bananas anyway so good enough for me. Still gotta force em down occasionally bc healthy, of course.
Have you tried pairing them with peanut butter, and possibly a couple slices of bread? I like both peanut butter bananas, and peanut butter and banana sandwiches, but don’t care for bananas by themselves.
Peanut butter makes em bearable in like a shake, but otherwise not for me. It helps with the flavor, but not the texture.
And honestly I can just slam one down no problem now, just not my favorite thing, but they’re amazing for recovery after working out so I do it anyway.
Banana scents/fake flavors are even worse tho, absolutely disgusting to me.
I searched it and the consensus is an astounding yes, this is somewhat true. Here’s an interesting article from a guy (take it with a grain of isoamyl acetate) that suggests it’s not as bad to eat bananas around bees. 🍌🐝 🍌 🐝
