i agree. layoffs like this have always been going on, CEOs get to say ai and investors get excited. its causing more uproar about ai.

i am not sure you know what the word capitalist means. hint for you, it has nothing to do with profit.

the problem is, before all the politicians were on the same level. hell france and the uk just passed meta’s age bill with ease. but now as trump is destroying everything, i as an american dont trust the system at all. before it was “the government doesnt care about you” now its “the government is out to destroy”

as someone who self hosts, i will be buying like crazy. i used to just say “ehh , i’ll get it later” - but right now, its hdd availability thats killing me. i am trying to build a nas and wd red plus drives are a week out, with cable guy times. So i have to make sure i will be around in a three day window.

i am a little confused and looking for clarification.

you mae a point to say that you are a non-techie but you are looking to learn a programming language.

there are non developement jobs that ise python: you can automate excel with python and axientists will use it for modeling ,

but a python only job would be a software developer job.

so i guess i am asking, what goal are you tring to reach that python came up?

I once again return to my soap box. The psu is the most important part of your computer build. So many people build computers and say “power is power” but so many crashes and it seems even fires (this one ia new to me) can be related to bad power management. Spend the money on the good psu.
