Yes, there are many lies about China, but don’t get stuck in second opinion syndrome. China is both worse and better than you know.
The fact the government lies about China, while China is still bad behind the scenes, can both be true. During the cold war, both sides accused the other of being evil, and both were right.
Don’t let anyone who puts a “communist” sticker on their own forehead fool you into supporting them.
China bad. US bad. Russia bad.
All three can be true at the same time. (And they are)
I don’t like M$, but this is my new number one recommendation for new programmers. It gets them to stay within the command line, while having the normal shortcuts they’re used to from using a computer already.
I love Vim, but it’s a chore to learn when you’re also learning programming on top. Emacs is even worse, it tricks you by being a non-modal GUI, but your keyboard shortcuts all do something new and slightly insane now.
Codeberg is great in my experience, but my usage isn’t very intensive, so I can’t speak for its speed if you push it.
And be careful with wallpapers, apps can get accent colors from your wallpaper, which are completely unique unless you use the default black one.
