The PR is meant to be able to block an instance as a user but you seem to think that it is about finding an instance and blocking that? I see no real purpose in such a feature tbh.
This is not how I understood the new feature but again, I could be wrong.I will await the new feature and hope and pray it is what I think it is.
If the admin of an instance A defederates instance B, all users on instance A will no longer see instance B.
However, other instances (like for example instance C) will still see the comments/users from instance B.The user being able to block instance B will no longer see anything from that instance B but all other users on instance A will keep seeing all from instance B. It is a personal instance block after all
This is how I understood the user instance blocking and it kinda aligns on how I think the fediverse works. But I could be wrong.

I understand what you do and what you mean with this post but it will be futile. Hexbear and lemmygrad are toxic instances where you cannot have a proper conversation with its users.
I call it the 4chan style of discussing things. Make you answer a plethora of questions without them needing to answer your questions. The point is to pit you constantly on the back-foot. They count on your morals and decency to keep answering and defending your opinions where they will absolutely have no desire to do the same thing. The end goal is for you to become frustrated and give up. For you to become disheartened.
I urge all instance owners to defederate from these shitholes, nothing of value will be lost.

The only narrative I see is you trying desperately to create one.
Like I said, voting for or wanting a separation does not guarantee you get what you desire.
It’s up to a country to determine how and if secession is possible. If the people of the complete country disagree with this separation the it will not happen and should not happen. Are the rest of a country any less of a factor? It is their country after all.
Discussing other situations specifically is tricky here. The formation of the US for example is incredibly difficult. Where did it start? The French, British or the colonist who formed the current country?
In the case we are discussing we have to deal with country as-is, the Ukraine as a whole. If secession is wanted then this region has to follow the rules and possibilities of Ukraine. iI’m not privy to these tbh.
What is not acceptable is invading that country and start killing people. Masquerading an election as valid while invading that country is not an option to consider as fair or legitimate.
Without specifying a group or situation, they rules and procedures for seceding should be followed. If the process fails to deliver your wanted outcome then you have to abide to the rulings.
What is not ok is for a foreign body to interfere. Certainly not by invading said country and killing, torturing and whatnot. If secession is successful then that autonomous new country can join whatever other country at their hearts desire. But again, that other country is not to step in and force secession.
Now what if the plight is of such nature it is not sustainable? The last resort you have is revolution or civil war. Again, not the call of a foreign body to step in and start killing people.
Invading and starting a war which costs the live of innocent people is not the answer.
What can I say? I cannot change the way you process information.

Why do you say this? What gives you the idea that they will face some form of workload pressure because of this?
The only people not getting leisure time will be the persons responsible fixing this. The consequences for the top brass will be Golden Parachuting to the next job, losing stock or face devaluation of said stock.
If you honestly think top brass is actually fixing this or face some form of heavy workload then you’d be wrong.
PS: This is not a manifesto on the inequalities of the current system 😊
It’s based on 40+ years of working where I have never seen top brass taking any form of responsibility or workload. They ‘connect’, ‘network’ and god knows what. All fair play if hired for that but please, do not confuse top management and actual work on products or being involved in fixing products. Also, never seen them ‘empower’ or ‘facilitate’ so others can work more efficiently or something like that.
