Same. Any word on whether something like programming has a similar effect?

As a cis man, I think very lowly of men-only groups. Usually (from my admittedly limited experience) if a group goes out of their way to identify as “men-only,” the people there tend to be the kind of men who are very misogynistic and generally insufferable to be around, even for other men. Any group genuinely focused on the hobby or culture they claim to identify with wouldn’t really care about your gender.
Women-only groups though, I tend to sympathize with and respect a lot more, and IMO they are the symptom of the West being a heavily male dominated society rather than an innate desire among women to be exclusionary. If the world didn’t revolve around men and had genuine gender equality, there probably wouldn’t be a need for many women only groups either, but that’s unfortunately not the world we live in.
I can’t really speak on trans/nonbinary exclusion though because I have no personal experience being on the business end of it. I try to only participate in groups where they don’t care about your gender to begin with.
They’re talking about your commute on the highway to some office park in the middle of nowhere.

Which is also fucking horrible. Yeah just further pollute the atmosphere with vaporized satellites why don’t you. Hope that Fortnite battle was worth it.
“Made with ingedients you can pronounce”
If you took the time to expand your vocabulary you wouldn’t need to pay a premium.
You’re the one spamming the meme community with announcements of who you’re blocking. There’s a reason blocks are silent.
Edit: They DM’d me
If by spam you mean post a single comment on the matter to provide feedback before moving on, then so be it.
But anyway, thank you for kindly volunteering to be on my block list as well. 😉

Unrelated, but anyone else think it’s really weird that we just casually accept our food utensils containing chromium? Like, I know it’s an alloy and not just free chromium, but would we accept a lead alloy spoon? Probably not, especially with most food being acidic. Honestly I’m just waiting for the paper that says we’ve been slowly poisoning ourselves with stainless steel every time we eat.

So that’s what all the DRAM they scalped is storing.

My policy with alien life is “I’ll believe it when it’s proven beyond reasonable doubt.” All this is interesting but I don’t think most pepople are rushing to the conclusion that alien life exist just because of this.

In other news, Tesla to introduce buttonless handless doors. Tell Grok why you deserve to be let out.

It always blows my mind just how much resources companies are willing to spend on DRM. Like, surely at some point your R&D costs will outweigh whatever piracy you might have prevented, and that prevention rate will never, ever be 100%. And that’s assuming they spent extra resources on DRM and didn’t take it out of the actual game development budget, resulting in a shittier product and less sales as a result.
It reminds me of when the transit system in my city introduced fare gates. It massively inflated the operating cost and guess what? It only ever stopped honest people who either forgot to load their card or were new to the transit system/city and didn’t understand the zone system, so loaded a 1 zone pass and had the audacity to ride even one station outside the city they got on (not to mention when the system glitched and refused to let you out even when you did pay). The people habitually not paying just casually push past the fare gates and no one stops them. I’d genuinely be suprised if they’re even breaking even with the operating/maintenance costs vs whatever few unintentional fare dodgers they manage to stop. Most likely they’re losing money, while making the transit system less efficient by introducing a bottleneck, while discouraging drivers from trying out transit, just because they can’t stand the idea that people can just walk on the train without paying (even though they haven’t actually stopped them).
Also to the liberals pearl clutching about “but we need democracy!” not realizing that’s what that quote means.
The proletariat is, pretty much by definition, the VAST majority of the people in a society, by far the largest group. The commoners like you and me, working in order to make a living.
Dictatorship can mean what you think it means in that context. Ruling a country by the will of some dictator.
If the proletariat is the dictator, it means ruling a country by the will of the vast majority of the people. That’s what democracy is. We can further discuss implementations of it and how well they work (hint: Western democracy works very poorly and is very undemocratic in practice, as you’ve definitely experienced), but the general concept described by “dictatorship of the proletariat” is democracy.
