The problem with that is the list becomes outdated as more and more companies embrace the process. Specific examples are what we need.

The responses so far are not specific examples of individual companies, brands features etc. They suffer the same problem as the article. Please be specific. For example when you say subscriptions on cars maybe mention BMW trying to put a subscription on heated seats.

The list isn’t useful if it’s not specific.

I started a Facebook group called New Music Only. Nothing older than a fortnight is allowed. It allows others to share brand new music they haye found and it forced me to go to YouTube and start hunting for recently uploaded music so I can supply material for the group.

On par except that are three of them at once.

I’m not doing any more bottle babies until I’m collecting Social Security and don’t have to work or sleep.

We had four cats die within a year. All orange boys.

Then one day I get a call from a place I’m doing Trap Neuter Release. Some mom just dropped three kids on a porch. I go grab the kids and set a trap for mom. I get the kids home. Three orange girls, two are bobtails. I’ve been on the hunt for an orange girl for years. Jackpot.

Really hoping we get mom because these are bottle babies. Get mom. Orange girl with even less tail.

I know I’m probably keeping mom no matter how feral she is. Definitely one of the kids too.

Time to make the decision. Which kid to keep. Wife vetoes me. We are keeping them all. Plus two more orange girls that will show up over the year. I have six orange girls. Probably more than anyone on the east coast. So much foster fail. So few braincells.

Eventually tame mom after 12 months and multiple attempts on my life. So many orange girls.

I foster extra spicy kittens and tame them so they can be adopted. Each time one bites me I think about how I have almost no insurance and this could be the one that unalives me. Those puncture bites are amazing. This little predator weighing less than 1% what I do can do me in with just their teeth.

My pet geese are so much safer.

There’s no shortage of batteries to power them.

I live in The South.

My air conditioner broke 3 years ago. This year we got a small window unit. It’s not enough to cool the whole house. But it does provide the very important feature of dehumidifying the house. The temperature in the house and outside can both be in the high 90s. But it is so much less oppressive inside the house where the humidity has been stripped out.

I’d avoid coddling too much. One tool I found that helps cats get along is the laser pointer. They both get so focused on that that they kind of forget that they’re in each other’s space trying to get it at the same time. Once they realize that they can be in the same space at the same time, without that hostility they tend to get along a lot better.†

It may not work in this situation because of the older cats health issues. But generally the closer you can keep them without any risk of attack, the faster they adopt each other or at least tolerate each other.

This is a tough one. When I find out someone has a 13 year old cat or dog I gently tell them that they need a second pet and they need it now. Because statistically in one to 6 years they will come home to an empty house and their soul is going to break when their buddy of more than a decade isn’t there.

You have a cat in declining health. It isn’t 100% possible to tell if their new issues are because of the kitten or if these were things that were going to happen anyway and the kitten’s arrival is just coincidence.

All joining of a new cat to an established cat house is going to be rocky for a bit. I foster ferals for the local county shelter and SPCA and tame them up so they can be adopted. I have mean nasty cats show up and piss off the locals every month. But after a few days everything settles out and they all get used to each other because there is plenty of food they don’t need to fight over and another room they can go to.

Except Junko. She is our 8 year old and still wants to be angry around cats that have been here one year less than her. Because she is mean. If I had the money I’d get her Prozac to see if it helps.

And that’s where your next step is. Your senior cat needs a vet visit. Let’s check their weight and everything else to see if they are getting enough nutrition. Is some medication to chill them out an option for them?

Do they have a spot in the house that is just theirs? Is the kitten making an effort to stay way or are they up in their face trying to make friends?
