    I’m sorry, but that thumbnail is utterly unhinged. If you think that this is important information that people should pay attention to, that thumbnail is absolutely the worst way to advertise, and is, in fact, a red flag.

        If I may ask off topic from what you’re replying to, is this book worth reading, out of curiosity?

          I believe so, though I haven’t yet read it. If nothing else, Furr presents a powerful and evidence-backed counter-narrative to much of Red Scare dogmatism, and in particular I appreciated his work on the Katyn Massacre and the fact that it was likely the Nazis that committed it, not the soviets, based on hard evidence. If you want to learn about Stalin in general, I believe the best work is Domenico Losurdo’s Stalin: History and Critique of a Black Legend. I have only skimmed that one for now, though, I am still focusing on studying the core of Marxism over historical implementation of socialism.
