- Cooler temperatures = more mosquitoes
- Higher humidity = more mosquitoes
- More rainfall = more mosquitoes (for some species)

Climate is moving north, thus your area is likely getting wetter and more humid.
Partially correct, mosquitos prefer warm humid environments with stagnant water to lay their eggs this is why they’re so prevalent in rain forests also they suck at flying so if it’s windy outside you won’t be bothered by many. You might want to check that, the cool factor has been measured across several studies as per my links. ;) They have pretty concrete temperature boundaries.
In the trail near my home they are downright relentless. It’s a popular place people go why are you biting me as if you’ll starve.
I was Uruguay out in the country. There were more mosquitos that I’d ever had to deal with. I decided to let them bite me. Eventually they’ll figure out that this blood isn’t worth their time or something and just give up.
The next three days really sucked.
