Anglos like to pit us against China because they know very well that without our cooperation in the East, Asia cannot become the true polar hegemon. Pentagon is working day and night right now, dripping in sweat.

US geopolitical incompetence is forcing India to choose a side now. US went after Russia with sanctions, and when they realized that India wasn’t going to follow they started threatening both with more sanctions. This clearly tells India that US sees it as a puppet that it can dictate foreign policy to, and that using dollar as a reserve currency is not safe.

The choice between aligning with a dying power that’s becoming increasingly belligerent or a rising one that acts rationally and predictably is an easy one. China and India may disagree on lots of things, but two rational actors can work together towards mutual benefit.

There is another angle to it. China always prevents India from becoming a veto state in UN, and so India has to see that after decoupling from USA/West hegemon, they do not become a consumer market economy tool for China. This is essential when you look at the dynamics between India-Russia, Russia-China and China-India. All 3 differ subtly. On the other hand, India and China vote same on issues in UN 80% of the times.

One thing between all this is clear though, India will decouple with West at some point. It is a question of when, not if.
