I bought a pixel 10 because I wanted face unlock for contactless payments (level 3 biometric).
But from what I’ve read in the past, GrapheneOS doesn’t work with most banking apps let alone payments.

Well said. I do sometimes wish the same approach was used when posts are hostile in the other direction though. I have no stake in this, so seeing the bickering just makes me eye roll now and mod actions can be very one sided from all parts of the fediverse.
Another con: 0 support. They don’t answer.

Ah okay that’s different. Thanks

Is this going to be like Reddit karma? I hope not.

How about not looking for an argument at all? This toxic us Vs them rhetoric is getting old and makes Lemmy a hateful place.

I don’t know about New York specifically but I have noticed a decline of people just generally going outdoors over the last few decades. The internet, streaming TV, remote working, online shopping and unabated capitalism has all had a compounded effect on people’s desire to do just about anything.

Yes you are right. Thanks, this got me looking into it further. Its really interesting how ships of a certain size have to conform to strict shipping lanes just like aircraft control does to prevent accidents. Also, after further reading I think the correct term is “transit passage”, as “international waters” has a separate meaning, but I think most people would just call it the latter as I’ve never heard of the former until now!

I actually thought this was an interesting question. So a cursory search tells me that international waters is normally 12 nautical miles from land. The channel is 130nm at its widest point but 21nm at its thinnest. Does that mean in order to pass through, a ship would need to cross into territorial waters of either France or Britain? Some results state that the channel is the busiest shipping lane in the world, not sure on that.

Doubt.
Mass surveillance is disliked by all.
Making it a political post is low effort.

I am sorry you don’t have the support you deserve, even from family. That must make a difficult life even more so.
My wife has cerebral palsy and in the last 5 years has developed chronic back pain that has taken away what little mobility and dignity she had.
It has been upsetting to watch her decline. Doctors seemingly unable to alleviate her symptoms, but we keep trying.
I am head over heals in love with her. The disability doesn’t change that. I am there for her every need, day or night. We appreciate each other and spend all our time together. I wish you could find someone to do the same for you.

Ah thank you, will check it out

I have no idea. I spot check 20 or so IP addresses and they are all from different AS networks. Truly diverse botnet. Feel powerless.

My instance gets pillaged once a day for 20 minutes by what I think is a scraper for an LLM.
The scraper grabs every post and profile page and the load on the server triggers alerts but the site stays usable.
I haven’t been able to put a stop to it as the requests come from 1500+ IP addresses, with different user agents.

You’ve posted this in so many places already, and you think it needs to be in “memes” as well?
I approve of this meme template.
It’s cute 🥰
Many Lemmy instances block lemmygrad.ml and spread what I think is misinformation about the people here.
I am grateful for the wide mix of news regarding this conflict from all sources, which I don’t see on communities hosted by other mainstream instances.
Without this, I feel others are missing the full picture. Thank you.
