I think all of these also have Chrome versions, but still better on FF due to being able to install (or side-load if not listed or not whitelisted for mobile) onto the mobile version. The day I learned how to get non-whitelisted ones to install and install from xpi was game over for bothering with other mobile browsers.

• FastStream for downloading videos from YT and a lot of other sites (I daily use it for grabbing stuff on Twitter)
• Bypass Paywalls Clean for the obvious (this one is to the dev’s not github but same kind of site site as it has to be installed via xpi)
• Watch on Odysee for seeing if a YT channel also uploads to Odysee to go watch there if possible and at least give my view there
• SponsorBlock for being able to skip hard-coded ads from the uploads and other sections of YT videos
• DeArrow for being able to view titles for YT videos that are more reflective of content
• Wayback Machine for saving pages to Archive.org along with saving them to my account on there.
• Privacy Possum for more aggressive blocking of tracking (though it does require remembering it is on if a site breaks as it will block things that uBO isn’t the cause of the issue)

It is more leeching than sharing, but if it is actually torrenting then it should also be uploading while the “stream” is playing. So kind of like PeerTube. Just really depends on both how it is setup, and how popular the video is at any time. Though it sucks that there isn’t a good way to make sure connections happen.

There are lots of times that I get torrents the regular way that I would like to have uploading to other peers at the same time. But will notice that I get few to zero peers for uploading with popular files. There are times that I will leave it seeding for weeks without any uploading. So I end up deleting the torrent so I can move files or free up space because I already made a second copy to sort. Not always the case, but frustrating to not even see a few MB go to anyone. With PeerTube I see my upload working more consistently, but main issue there is just not often that I am watching something that a lot of others (or any others) are also watching.

I am not sure of where you live or what side of the road you drive on but dear god, learn where the passing lane is and what the etiquette for it is.

Would add that it is not good to stay in the left-most lane on the interstate if you aren’t passing. If someone is going faster than you are while in that lane, move out of it. So many slow folks and/or big trucks love to just stay in the left lane for no reason. Obviously there are moments that make it impossible. Like when all lanes are filled due to construction, or due to those cascade waves of stand-still traffic cause by folks doing that sudden jumps from one side to the other because of missing exits or whatever.

Even with the small amount per user, they better be forced to pay in real checks or similar. Not in Play Store gift cards/credits, as I imagine that is what they will want to do if their appeal fails.

Built piecemeal over the past 6ish years (original CPU: Ryzen 3800X as a bundle with the board and GPUs first RX-580 8GB then RX-5700XT also 8GB, drives changed out also over time along with the RAM). So the cost of all the parts has been spread out. I got the RX-7900XTX for $800 off a friend that was down-sizing on things which was too good to pass-up as the price was still $1000~1100 at the time (2023 within the first year).

Usecase: Mostly games, general daily tasks and browsing, also as my Plex server and more recently ripping/re-encoding my Blu-rays and DVDs.

I plan to build a more straightforward PC for games and daily tasks. I don’t have the parts selected yet for it, but plan to stay all AMD. Also plan to run a Linux distro from the start with that one since Proton has worked so well on my Steam Deck (along with Windows 11 being so much more invasive than even 10). Might still need to setup a VM with Windows for really specific situations and to keep-up with how things work and trying out things that might help in fixing PCs I work on for my job.

I have heard that doing hardware pass-through on VMs is maybe easier if the host is Linux to be able to actually use my GPU in the client OS. So I am looking forward to seeing how that might work (I don’t use VMs much since I haven’t had proper GPU support which annoys me lol). —

True, I ended up listening to some tracks and bought two of their albums. Their response to being dropped from their agency and the attempts to smear them was awesome. I would love to have that just to show to co-workers and friends, just to see their reactions. I could see it being kind of nice to have if I really really needed multiple screens. But would never want to bring it anywhere unless it is staying in a hotel room for like a week and working (which I don’t have a job that would even give that situation to happen anyway). Still nice to see mobile workstations still have room for wild-ass designs like that. Kind of like how more smart phones used to have really wild selling points.

True, but if the option to start using it isn’t there. Then it also won’t have data to even get started. I remember when I first started using Waze back on my Galaxy S3, it wasn’t super helpful (for both the traffic and in some cases the map data). This was mostly due to it not being used by many people in my state at the time (the friend that told me about it used it in a much larger city with more “tech” people around). So even if it doesn’t help me directly right away, I am more than happy to start using it daily to report what I can.

That might be true, but look at how hyped Israel’s Iron Dome has been as being so “amazing.” And yet Yemen continues to make it through time and time again. Not to mention Hezbollah’s many successful incursions with their recon drones and missiles hitting many of their targets. Are the systems impressive in fucked up scary ways? Yes, but it gives false senses of “safety” and allows for underestimating nations and fighters that are seen as “backwards” from a tech standpoint. Literally the only thing that keeps me on Waze is that stuff. I have to deal with a lot of interstate travel to and from work and knowing that a big crash happened so I can re-route before getting stuck is crucial. I will still make sure to have this installed just like I had Organic Maps as a good option. And to see what stuff I go to that needs to be updated on OSM and StreetComplete. Had to add all of the addresses on my street on OSM a while ago just to be able to correctly enter my address. One of those addresses that is listed as one town for mailing and is technically within the borders of a smaller one with regards to utilities and plots of land.

One thing that infuriates me with job interviews is how they will write you off the second you are late. But they sure as hell can be late by as much as they want. And will treat you like shit if they are in a rush, or if they forgot about your scheduled time slot (had this happen with a phone interview that I even proved to the receptionist that I had in fact followed the instructions). They should be required to pay the person being interviewed for each hour (rounded up even if just 15min) wasted or their own lateness.

I understand the catch 22 of it. But they are already doing crackdowns, and even without this, they have already planned more crackdowns. For daily use of temps, I found it best to just switch my apps and stuff to use Celsius. Then just made a point to take mental notes as to see what the current temps were on my devices. Especially when it was feeling too hot or cold. On days that felt nice, would see what temps they were and just kind of learned what ranges were between them (I tend to find 16-23C to be fine warm temps).

I can’t say exactly what the temps in Fahrenheit directly. But can give a range for friends and co-workers if they happen to ask me what the temps are outside (they obviously take the Celsius value as not helpful but they know I am going to give them). I can say that for me the “exposure therapy” of just using Celsius has been much easier than things like distance. I can kind of handle thinking of static distances, but I am not able to translate active things like speed.

The end goal of Communism is for what we know as “the state” to wither away as peoples of all nations learn to function together. Each state that exists currently must choose Socialism. Be it revolution with words and actions, or by a armed uprising to force out those that refuse to stop supporting the dictatorship of the bourgeois.

All acts of revolution are an exertion of authority/will over what exists. Anarchists believe (at least very generally speaking, but I will yield my own lack of understanding) that “the state” should go away from the jump. Which from a Communist or non-anarcho versions of Socialism/Communism perspective doesn’t work at the scale of whole nations that we have. Especially while the bulk of everyday people still need things they already know or need to function as they learn to place peoples’ needs over profits. Being fair, this mass learning is crucial for all versions of anti-capitalist/imperialist political spectrum.

Though I can see how real dedicated Anarchists that hold the revolutionary spirit and the will to put in the very hard work could happen in smaller scales. Like in getting folks in rural areas to collectivize various farms to grow and rotate crops and everyone that can contribute work/resources. Or in small towns where everyone already kind of knows everyone to some level. Small towns with lots of rural areas around them would be like the best option of course.

Does it have support for the P2P part of playing the videos? I know it can cause issues for data caps if it does. But if it doesn’t have that part, would love to see it show up in the settings to turn on and off to help share if on WiFi or if not on a cap. Would be great at least if running it on an Android based TV box to be able to not be a complete leech.

I get those a lot from other sites (weirdly YT Music doesn’t on FF or Zen) like Amazon Music (even when just trying to buy a digital track or album). Weirdly the sites will act normal for a moment or two before removed about my browser not being “updated” or otherwise Chromium-based. We managed to break the internet being coded for IE, but allowed Google to openly make the new IE. Safari seems to work for some of the sites, but that is just because Apple made all the iOS browsers use Webkit with custom skins on one of the top selling phone/tablet options.
