An official at the Kyoto District Legal Affairs Bureau who allegedly grabbed and kicked a subordinate for revealing the plot of the popular manga “Oshi no Ko” has been reported to public prosecutors on suspicion of assault, sources familiar with the case have disclosed.
Papers accusing the supervisory registrar, who is in his 50s, were sent to prosecutors on April 30 following a police investigation into the incident, which occurred in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, on Feb. 1.
The sources said the official was chatting in the office at the bureau’s Uji branch when the subordinate, who is also in his 50s, revealed how the story of the manga went. The registrar flew into a rage, saying, “I hate being told spoilers,” and reportedly grabbed the subordinate by the collar and kicked him around the waist.
